Reformer Training

Beginner, intermediate and advanced oh my! The 4-day, 32-hour Reformer course trains students on how to instruct on the Reformer apparatus for all levels in the classical Pilates reformer sequence.

A minimum of 1 year teaching experience in the fitness industry or certification in Pilates, personal training or group fitness

A minimum of 10 private or semi private Pilates sessions utilizing the apparatus

It is strongly suggested, but not required, that you complete CPNYC’s Mat Training Course, or level modules prior to taking any course within The Equipment Training Series.

Day 1

Beginner Reformer presentation: Equipment set up, safety and maintenance, technique and cueing of exercises, lecture, drills Lecture: New client protocol

Day 2

Intermediate Reformer presentation: Equipment set up and safety, technique and cueing of exercises, drills Lecture: How to integrate intermediate exercises into beginner reformer sequence

Day 3

Beginner and Intermediate Reformer review and drills Lecture: When and how to advance a client on the reformer

Day 4

Advanced Reformer presentation: Equipment set up and safety, technique and cueing of exercises, drills Lecture: The Advanced Reformer System: Honoring classical flow and transitions

Exams:

Practical and written exam

Apprenticeship:

25 hours of observation, practice teaching and self practice

$1,750 tuition includes:

Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Reformer exercises, exams and one retest if necessary

25 Apprentice hours

Online Manual for download (bound hard copy is available for an additional cost), student login for access to CPNYC’s Online Learning Center (videos, digital manuals, chats)

NASM Continuing Education Units: 1.9

ACE Continuing Education Units: 3.0

Early Bird Special: Pay in full 30 days or more before the course start date and tuition is $1,650.
