The 2-day, 16-hour Chair course teaches students the proper mechanics, safety and technique through all levels of the classical Pilate chair exercises. The course maintains an eye toward creative choreography and challenges that make the chair the most entertaining apparatus to learn on and to teach.
Because knowing it in your own body is the first step to teaching it to others
A minimum of 1 year teaching experience in the fitness industry or certification in Pilates, personal training or group fitness
A minimum of 10 private or semi private Pilates sessions utilizing apparatus including the chair
It is strongly suggested, but not required, that you complete CPNYC’s Mat Training Course, or level modules prior to taking any course within The Equipment Training Series.
Day 1
Beginner and Intermediate Chair presentation: Equipment set up, safety and maintenance, technique and cueing of exercises, lecture, drills Lecture: Proper cueing and spotting for safety and performance
Day 2
Intermediate/Advanced Chair review and presentation: Equipment set up and safety, technique and cueing of exercises, drills

Practical and written exam
