To teach Pilates properly one must know it in their own body first
Complete a minimum of 10 private and at least 15 semi-private sessions at Core Pilates NYC. If you complete your sessions elsewhere, you will need to submit a log of sessions and letter of recommendation from that studio. A practical evaluation may be required.

This extensive learning process will teach students the entire Classical Pilates System utilizing the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Towers, Barrels, Pedi-Pull and various props such as the Magic Circle. It is the most comprehensive Pilates apparatus course of its kind. Unlike other Pilates training programs Core Pilates NYC integrates mat work – the foundation of the Method – into the 6-month study. The Comprehensive Training Course is designed to deliver quality training in a time efficient manner. Most apprentices usually complete the program and receive certification after 6 months.
Beginner Intensive Weekends: 20 hours of instruction learning the beginner exercise system on the mat and on the apparatus.
Monthly Review Meeting: A Strong Foundation to Start: 3 hours. Discussion of the pelvic floor and presentation of Anatomy in Clay®: Build the pelvic floor and diaphragm
Mentor Meeting: A one-hour sit-down with your assigned mentor for that month
Apprenticeship: Continue observation and self-practice
Intermediate Intensive Weekends: 20 hours of instruction learning the intermediate exercise system on the mat and on the apparatus
Mentor Meeting 2: Meet with your second mentor
Exams: 100 hour practical test out training 2 beginner clients through a beginner system
Apprenticeship: Training on “outside bodies” is added to observation and self-practice
Monthly Review Meeting: Challenge the Core/Focus is on cueing and how to challenge a client with the beginner system. Anatomy in Clay®: Building the Abdominal Walls
Apprenticeship: Earn While You Learn teaching shifts begin for all qualifying apprentices as well as teaching a CPNYC Apprentice Mat Class once a week.
Advanced and Props Intensive Weekends: 20 hours of instruction learning the advanced exercises and Pilates props
Mentor Meeting 3: meet with your 3rd mentor after month-long observation
Exams: 200-hour written test. Intermediate Mat demo assessment: Video-based critique of technique and form
Professional Development Weekend: Chock full of workshops that take your education into the next level. Includes, How to Structure a Tower Class, Structuring a Reformer Jumpboard Class, Advanced Mat, and Prenatal Pilates.
Mentor Meeting 4: meet with your 4th mentor after month-long observation
Anatomy in Clay®, The Workshop: Anatomy education is completed by building the skeleton, muscles, extremities and core.
Exams: 300-hour practical test. Train 2 clients through an intermediate system session
Apprenticeship: Continue Earn While you Learn teaching shifts, teaching mat classes, observation, self-practice
Optional: How to Structure a Tower Class and Reformer Jumpboard workshops are open for enrollment
Exams: 400-hour final written exam and practical test out. Teach a beginner and intermediate client a semi-private session. Advanced Reformer Demonstration Assessment
Final Monthly Review Meeting: An Eye to Alignment. Anatomy: Focus on fascial meridians and how they relate to alignment
Apprenticeship: Finish up required hours
Wrap Up Meeting: Pilates as your new career is discussed and how to get started as a professional.

Pay in full 30 days or more before the course start date and tuition is $4,350.
If you have previously enrolled in The Mat Training Course, the tuition is reduced to $3,995.
If you pay in full and cancel 30 days prior to course start date: full refund except $100 processing fee
If you pay in full and cancel after 30 days before course start date: all refundable except deposit
Once the deposit is received, you will receive discounted semi-private sessions, tower and mat classes. If you cancel
registration, refund will be issued while withholding the difference of savings and full price.
