Top 3 activities or hobbies?
Pilates (duh!), anything active and out in the sun, hanging with friends and family

What is your favorite NYC pizza and what’s your slice of choice?

Pete’s-a-Place (….until it burned down a few weeks ago..boo)…slice of choice- eggplant (yum!)

What’s your favorite exercise to teach and do you have a special spin to it you like to throw in the mix?

Frog and leg circles because, while they look simple enough, doing them correctly can definitely challenge pelvic stability. I sometimes have clients place the palms of their hands on their hip bones to make sure the hips aren’t rocking back and forth and they are not collapsing in the lower back as the legs move in/out

If Joseph Pilates were alive today what would you ask him?

How the genius of the systems came together

Top 3 places you’ve traveled?

I lived abroad in Spain, Argentina and the beaches of the Caribbean

Do you keep a “bucket list” of things to do before you die and if so what are the top 3 things on it?

No bucket list for me – don’t need the added stress of another list in my life but always pursuing my next goal. Right now, it’s Pilates and a graduate degree in Psychology.

What’s the farthest point from the Core studio (and NYC) that you have taught, taken or performed Pilates?

LA Baby!

What’s your Pilates “a-ha” moment?

When I was a body for Kim during a teacher training and we were demonstrating round back in the Stomach Massage Series and she lifted me out of my hips “finding length through the sides of the waist, all while maintaining a round spine”…who knew?! That has really improved my own technique and my teaching of the C-curve in a range of exercises.

Two words that describe your teaching style?

Enthusiastic and engaging

Favorite type of sessions or classes to teach and why?

I love teaching duets where the clients are either mother/daughter, sisters, friends or married. There is always such a fun energy and sense of healthy competition during the session.

Care to share any teaching blunders?

I try to learn from those and immediately block them out. But I would have to say spring changes…all of the sudden watching the clients face turn red and realizing “oh no!” I forgot to drop springs!

It’s Friday eve. Where can we usually find you?

Well, it used to be the dance floor but since I picked up my Saturday shift at the studio, you can usually find me grabbing a casual dinner in the neighborhood or cozying up to a movie and a glass of wine at home.
