Favorite breakfast food?

A high protein breakfast is how I love to start my day! Being German, I would really love steak tartar, made with lean organic beef.

What's your favorite exercise to teach and do you have a special spin to it that you prefer to throw at clients?

I love teaching Roll Up, but I prefer to teach it standing against the wall, with a yoga block underneath the buttocks. The challenge is to keep the block in place, while rolling the spine up and down.

I don’t leave home without…?

My dog Schnitzel

If Joseph Pilates were alive today, what would you ask him?

As a German, living and teaching Pilates in New York, my question would be “Why have you chosen a method of breathing that is not easy for Americans to duplicate since those vocal gestures are not a natural way for them to breathe?” Good question I think!

What quality do you most admire in a teacher?

When they can demonstrate an understanding that daily life is hard for the majority of us which can make things super challenging, but yet can harness the client’s motivation and help them even when they are tired to get the most out of their workout.

Top 3 places you've traveled?

1.    Salzburg, Austria
2.    Hong Kong
3.    Taromina, Italy

What is your signature fashion style?

Cool, easy and relaxed

Top 3 things on your "To Do Before I Die" list?

1.    World Traveler!!
2.    Live to the fullest
3.    I have a dream to be a mother

What's your Pilates "a-ha" moment?

Mine is less about my own practice but rather through watching clients transform through the Method and experiencing their own breakthroughs in their bodies and the happiness as their improvement and progress with their workout.

Two words that describe your teaching style?

Calm & gentle

Favorite blog?

Core Pilates NYC. I like the guest bloggers and the particular series that they run.

How has Pilates changed your body?

I now I have a better connection with my mind and body.

Care to share any teaching blunders?

Well being from Germany I come with an accent. Joe Pilates would be proud! But vocabulary has been challenging especially with the English names for the body parts. Most clients don’t have any issue but I am super aware of how it could be misunderstood when I am teaching.

I am an expert in __?

Making healthy low calorie cocktails. Yes, it’s possible.

Where can we find you on any given Saturday night?

Relaxing in front of the fireplace, and thinking about how to improve my golf game…. And reading.
